Roku-Dan Review

To support promotions of the highest standard, the IIKA offers a comprehensive review for prospective karate-ka to determine if an individual is sufficiently practiced in Isshin-ryu prior to award of an IIKA roku-dan rank certificate. Reviews are arranged upon Chief Instructor recommendation and subsequent approval of the IIKA Board of Directors.

The roku-dan evaluation covers the student’s knowledge and application of all Isshin-ryu kata, along with a thorough review of basic techniques.

The review process gives the student a memorable and beneficial opportunity to demonstrate his or her knowledge of the Isshin-ryu system. A rigorous and robust review process ensures that the IIKA continues to help promote roku-dans with demonstrated proficiency.
